Covering 100 hectares of tropical rainforest, Bedarra Island is part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the Family Group of Islands; located approximately 10 kilometres offshore from the coastal village of Mission Beach, midway between Cairns and Townsville in tropical North Queensland.
Arrival at Bedarra is either by launch or helicopter from Mission Beach — or helicopter directly from Cairns airport. Mission Beach is approximately 2 hours drive south of Cairns and can be reached by either self-drive rental car or limousine service.

The journey from Mission Beach to Bedarra takes approximately 25 minutes by private launch or 10 minutes by helicopter.
